TRB’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) has released a pre-publication, non-edited version of Report 818: Comparing the Volumetric and Mechanical Properties of Laboratory and Field Specimens of Asphalt Concrete. The report proposes practices for evaluating the causes and magnitude of variability of specimen types tested in quality control and assurance programs for asphalt paving projects.
