TRB’s Innovations Deserving Exploratory Analysis (IDEA) Highway Project 169: An Inexpensive Vision-Based Approach for the Autonomous Detection, Localization, and Quantification of Pavement Defects explores the development of a cost-effective, vision-based sensor system for autonomous data acquisition of road surface conditions. The sensor system can also be used for autonomous detection, localization, and quantification of pavement defects.
