TRB’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) Innovations Deserving Exploratory Analysis (IDEA) program Report 149: Use of Energy Absorbing Breakaway Posts for W-Beam Guardrail in Frozen Soil Conditions has released a report that develops, tests, and demonstrates the application of breakaway posts with energy absorbing capabilities to enhance the safety performance of W-beam guardrails in frozen soil conditions.
