Bookstore Now Offering Web-Based Pavement Design, Management Title

AASHTO Journal, 16 October 2015

The AASHTO Bookstore has just published “Pavement Design, Construction, and Management: A Digital Handbook, 1st Edition,” a title developed by the association’s Joint Technical Committee on Pavements.

The web-based publication is meant to be a ‘one-stop shop’ on pavement engineering for use by state departments of transportation, industry contractors and others. It is available only as a web-based publication, and can be purchased as a single-user license, a five-user license or a ten-user license.

It looks at pavement-type selection strategies, including the life-cycle costs of those choices and their various methods of construction.

Other chapters review testing and evaluation of pavement, detail treatments and performance expectations for each, plus methods of analysis and data to help optimize a pavement’s design life.

There is also a discussion of the caretaker’s role in selecting and re-using materials for environmentally sustainable design.

More information, including prices for AASHTO members and nonmembers, is available here.

The Bookstore is also offering a specially discounted price when buyers choose to get both that new publication and a previously available title, the “Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide: A Manual of Practice, 2nd Edition.”

That Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide is available in three formats – a print version, a PDF download or as a set that includes both the PDF and print versions. The special discount can be applied to any combination of licenses and any available formats.
