Highway Design 2013

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2358 contains 10 papers that address daytime and nighttime passing maneuvers on a two-lane rural road in Spain; an algorithm for analyzing horizontal sight distance from lane center-line coordinates; roadside clearance limit on horizontal curves with transition arcs; safety impacts of design exceptions on non-freeway segments; and, a decision tool to define and quantify interchange complexity.

This issue also studies traveler preferences, values, and behaviors associated with public rest areas; context-sensitive approach for network selection of infrastructure projects; evaluation of wheat straw wattles for velocity reduction in ditch check installations; and, green infrastructure design for pavement systems subject to rainfall–runoff loadings.
