PORTSMOUTH – Motorists who do not have E-ZPass transponders can now take advantage of the benefits of the program on the New Hampshire Turnpike System. The N.H. Department of Transportation has announced a new E-ZPass account that gives drivers the option to “Prepay a NH Trip” so they can use the dedicated E-ZPass lanes and open road tolling lanes.

The new option uses an advance payment system in which users establish a prepaid account and register a license plate before their trip. License plate images will be matched to the account when traveling through the E-ZPass lanes and the toll will be deducted from the prepaid account balance automatically.

Rules for the new option include no discounts for the prepaid option, multiple vehicles can be registered on the same account and no limit to trips that can be prepaid.
